CAR SHOW PLANS NEARING COMPLETION
Some of the members of
the Cruise Into Fall Car Show Committee were
on hand recently to discuss the details of
the upcoming 9th annual cruise
in on Saturday, October 10th.
Last year the show brought over 375 cars to
the downtown square. There were all makes,
models, colors and sizes including antique
tractors, trucks, street rods, antiques
cars, and classics.
A new feature of the car
show this year is the additoin of our new
website
www.glasgowcarshow.com. Basic
information about the show is available on
the website. “We’re also making the entry
form available on the website. that can be
downloaded, filled out in advance and handed
to the volunteers a the registration table
on West Main St. Every car will need an
entry form so if you bring more than one car
fill out an entry form for each one/ This
should help speed up the registration
process. Parking attendants will be at
registration to guide the exhibitors to
their parking spaces
Another innovation for
last year’s show was the addition of event
sponsorships. Conne’ Baker tells us “The
new speaker system allowed us to give “live
commercials” to a captive audience for
sponsors of the event. It was an
opportunity for them to showcase their
products or services that would be of
interest to the hundreds of the car owners
and spectators, who attended the car show.
It is one of the largest car shows in the
area. We will be seeking event sponsors
again this year. We also have
opportunities available for businesses or
individuals to sponsor the many trophies we
give out at our awards ceremony. Becky has
found a very unique trophy for this year’s
winners. It will definitely stand out on
the owner’s trophy shelf. If anyone would
like to talk to us about sponsorships they
just need to contact Becky or me. Also we
are always looking for people who would like
to help the committee. It’s so much fun,
everybody loves cars.”
This year local school
and charitable organizations will be given
the opportunity to sell concessions at the
Car Show. A limited number of vendors can
be accommodated so it will be important to
contact Becky or Conne’ as soon as possible.
